Ross Helbing began his real estate career in Dallas, Texas and earned the prestigious MAI designation (Member of the Appraisal Institute) before launching his first appraisal company, Bogdon & Helbing, Inc. While building the valuation firm, he and his partner utilized their knowledge base, underwriting experience and market relationships to develop an apartment project in Killeen, Texas, under HUD guidelines. .

Ross co-founded Neugent & Helbing, Inc. (NHI) in 1997 which remains active today. NHI specializes in the valuation of a wide range of property types and disciplines including shopping centers, office buildings, industrial, data center, multifamily, hotels, self-storage, land, and other specialty uses, as well as condemnation appraisals, consulting and court testimony.

Leveraging his deep valuation expertise and strong industry relationships built over decades as a commercial appraiser, Ross successfully expanded into development and investment. He developed Legendary Self Storage in Frisco, Texas, and has since served as a consultant on multiple self-storage projects.

Ross spearheaded commercial real estate investments on behalf of family and investment partnerships since 2006. Collectively, he has lead the investment strategy and asset management for over 50 commercial projects in all real estate sectors.
